Norway issues thunderstorm warning for eastern regions

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow alert for severe thunderstorms across parts of eastern Norway from Thursday afternoon, warning of intense lightning strikes and potential damage.

The warning takes effect from 15:00 and remains in place until 20:00 local time. Authorities caution that thunderstorms will vary in intensity by location, with some areas possibly unaffected.

Lightning poses risks of fires in buildings and dry vegetation, while power outages and disruptions to TV and internet services may occur. Residents are advised to unplug electrical devices to prevent damage. The storms may also bring localized strong wind gusts.
