Telenor internet outage hits thousands after router failure in Bromma

A major internet outage at Telenor left customers across Sweden without service Wednesday evening, according to reports from public broadcaster SVT.

The failure stemmed from a downed router in Bromma, a district of Stockholm, Telenor communications officer Sofia Åberg told Aftonbladet. The company’s own website was also inaccessible during the disruption.

Nearly 1,000 users reported issues to the outage-tracking site Downdetector as of 8:30 p.m. local time.
