Stockholm’s public transport agency SL has warned of further significant delays on the subway system when services resume on Monday, following days of widespread disruptions.
A signaling fault on the red line has caused repeated delays and complete stoppages, with technical experts flown in from Germany to assist in repairs. Meanwhile, the green line has been affected by track warping from heat—known locally as solkurvor—and a separate points failure.
SL stated in a press release that there is currently “a high risk of continued disruptions” on Monday morning, with no timeline for a return to normal operations on either line.
The agency advised commuters to allow extra travel time, check real-time updates, and consider alternative routes where possible.
