Several injured in violent incident near Kungälv

Several people were injured in a violent incident outside Kungälv on Sunday evening, Swedish public broadcaster SVT reported.

Emergency services responded to the scene shortly after 9:30 p.m. following reports of the attack, according to regional newspaper Göteborgs-Posten. Police confirmed to the paper that the situation had been contained and described it as an isolated event.

At least one person was taken into custody, while multiple victims were transported to hospital by ambulance, police told Expressen. Johan Jung, duty officer for the Västra Götaland regional police, called the crime “serious” but declined to provide further details.

“The incident is over,” Jung said.
