A Scottish tour guide accused of working illegally in the Faroe Islands has been deported and banned from returning for two years, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reported Tuesday.
The man, who allegedly violated Faroese immigration laws, refused to pay a 300,000 krona (approx. €39,000) fine, forcing authorities to escalate the case to court. The deportation follows an investigation into his employment status, which confirmed he lacked the necessary work permit.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the individual or the nature of his work.
