Mobile phone mast vandalized in Janakkala, disrupting Elisa network services

A mobile phone mast belonging to Elisa was toppled in Janakkala during the night between Saturday and Sunday. According to the Häme police situation center, the mast’s support cables were cut. The incident is being investigated as a severe case of vandalism.

On Sunday night, Elisa announced disruptions in their mobile network in the areas of Mäskälä, Hyrvälä, and Kankainen in Hämeenlinna, as well as Kontuvuori and Karanoja in Janakkala. Due to the situation, the functionality of Elisa’s mobile network services, including voice, data, and text messaging, has been compromised. The disruption affects 2G, 4G, and 5G connections. As a result, mobile network coverage has weakened and may be entirely unavailable in some areas impacted by the disruption.
