Campus Køge evacuated after bomb threat
Police have evacuated Campus Køge following a bomb threat against the educational institution, Midt- and Vestsjællands Police said on the Politi Update platform.
“We are currently on site with several patrols at Campus Køge after receiving a bomb threat against the location. The students are now out of the building, and we are searching the area,” the police wrote.
The threat was directed at the vocational school ZBC, which is located on the campus, said Thomas Kristensen, communications chief for Midt- and Vestsjællands Police.
Police have evacuated students from ZBC and Køge Handelsskole, which also share the Campus Køge premises. No suspicious objects have been found and no arrests have been made so far, Kristensen said.
The report was received around 12:30 p.m. Police would not provide further details on how the report was received. Multiple patrol cars are on site, and police said they have no timeline yet for completing their work on the campus.
Several educational institutions operate at Campus Køge, which hosts 4,300 pupils, students, and course participants annually. Police could not specify how many students had been evacuated. In addition to ZBC and Køge Handelsskole, VUC Roskilde, EUC Sjælland, and Zealand Academy also have facilities at the campus, located about five kilometers north of Køge Station.
