Two men arrested for illegal use of firearms in Tuomiojärvi, Jyväskylä

Police in Central Finland have arrested two men on charges of illegal use of firearms and endangering public safety at the beach area of Tuomiojärvi in Jyväskylä, as reported by the local newspaper Keskisuomalainen. The arrested individuals are adult residents of Central Finland, and a decision regarding their potential detention is expected by noon on Monday.
On Saturday, July 27, around 5:30 AM, several gunshots were fired in the parking lot of the popular swimming area, although no injuries were reported from the incident. Authorities are investigating the case under allegations of endangering public safety, illegal use of firearms, and drug-related offenses.
In total, twelve people were detained by police at the scene, with ten subsequently released. According to police reports, while multiple shots were fired in the parking area, there were no injuries, and there is no indication that the event posed a risk to bystanders.
Detective Chief Inspector Sami Salo noted that the police arrived at the scene quickly and managed to control the situation. He indicated that there was clearly some kind of dispute among the groups present. Additionally, the arrested individuals were found to be in possession of several handguns.
