Faroese parliament to debate 12 bills including controversial hunting and animal welfare amendments
The Faroese parliament will consider 12 legislative proposals in Monday’s session, including four third readings and eight second readings, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.
Among the bills is a second-reading amendment to permit the hunting of greylag geese and barnacle geese. Lawmakers will also revisit a proposal to exclude pilot whale hunts from animal welfare regulations, which had previously undergone a second reading.
The session begins at 13:00 local time. Four parliamentary meetings are scheduled for the coming week.
