Employment Fund board proposes lower unemployment insurance contributions

Yle reports that the Employment Fund’s board has unanimously proposed reducing the total unemployment insurance contribution rate by 0.3 percentage points next year.

The proposal would lower the combined rate from 1.8 per cent to 1.5 per cent.

The Employment Fund’s supervisory board will make the final decision on the proposal to the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health on Thursday. Parliament will confirm the final contribution rates in the autumn.
