Faroe Islands national treasury reports 150 million krona return on investments
The Faroese national treasury earned 150 million krona (€19.3 million) in investment returns last year, equivalent to a 3.3 percent yield, according to a report by public broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya.
Financial markets experienced volatility in early 2026 after then-US President Donald Trump announced plans in April for new tariffs on nearly all global trading partners, triggering a sharp decline in bond markets. However, the downturn reversed as nations negotiated fresh trade agreements and concerns over inflation and economic decline eased.
The second half of the year saw improved conditions, with renewed optimism returning to markets, Landsbankin stated in its assessment.
