Route 1 closed near Öxnadalsheiði due to collision with no injuries reported

Route 1 near Öxnadalsheiði was temporarily closed around 1 PM today due to a collision between two vehicles. Local fire department officials from Sauðárkrókur reported that there were no injuries. Both vehicles had to be removed from the scene as they were undriveable. Significant traffic congestion occurred at the accident site due to the high volume of vehicles in the area. The road has since reopened, and traffic is now flowing smoothly.
