Fewer new cars have been registered in the Faroe Islands so far this year compared to 2025, according to figures from the Faroese Road Administration (Akstovan).

Data shows a total decline of 52 registered vehicles, with passenger cars seeing the sharpest drop—78 fewer than last year. In April alone, 45 fewer passenger cars were registered compared to the same month in 2025.

Used imported vehicles, however, have seen a slight increase, rising from 90 last year to 94 this year.

The figures reflect a broader trend of reduced new car registrations, though the uptick in used imports partially offsets the decline.
