Faroese capital plans 84 new apartments near public broadcaster headquarters
The city council of Tórshavn will decide Thursday on revised building permits for a green area above the Norðurlandahúsið cultural centre and Faroese national broadcaster Kringvarpið, clearing the way for 84 new apartments, reports Kringvarp Føroya.
Mayor Elsa Berg confirmed the project aims to address housing shortages while ensuring sustainable land use. Each apartment will include a dedicated parking space.
Local residents have not yet been consulted, Berg acknowledged, but added: “They will be heard soon.”
