Faroese flag day speech calls for greater empathy and personal responsibility
The Faroe Islands must show more empathy in words and actions, speaker Brynhild Thomsen declared during the national flag day ceremony in Tórshavn on Saturday.
In her annual address, Thomsen urged Faroese people to take responsibility and foster greater empathy, setting an example for others. “We can take responsibility and cultivate more empathy, in what we say and what we do. We can be role models for others,” she stated.
The speech was delivered as part of the official flag day observances in the capital, marking the Faroese national holiday.
