The Faroe Islands imported goods worth nearly 11 billion krona between March 2025 and February 2026, marking a 6.9 percent increase from the previous year, according to the Faroese statistical agency Hagstova Føroya.
The value of food imports rose by 11.3 percent, while fuel costs dropped by 7.6 percent—a decline attributed to the US lifting sanctions on Iran. Exports exceeded imports, totaling 13.7 billion krona, an increase of 1.4 billion krona year-on-year.
Six countries—USA, Denmark, Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, and Russia—each purchased over 1 billion krona worth of Faroese fish products annually. Exports to Russia fell by 91 million krona compared to the 2024–2025 period.
