Three people drowned in Finland during March, the Finnish Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation (SUH) reported on Monday, citing preliminary media data.

One of the victims died after falling through ice, while two others lost their lives in a diving accident.

So far this year, a total of eight drowning deaths have been recorded in Finland. Regional figures show three occurred in southern Finland, three in western and central Finland, one in southwestern Finland, and one in eastern Finland.
