Amputee rescuer returns to duty after losing leg in accident
A Danish emergency responder who lost his leg in a serious accident has returned to active duty as a rescuer in Viborg, according to a report by national broadcaster DR.
Jan Roald Pedersen suffered a life-changing injury that resulted in the amputation of his leg. Now fitted with a prosthetic limb, he has resumed his role as a Falck rescuer, the private emergency services provider confirmed.
Pedersen told DR he hopes his return to work will inspire others facing similar challenges, demonstrating that severe injuries do not necessarily end a career in emergency response.
