Police in southern Denmark are examining a report of “inappropriate correspondence” between a school employee and a student under 15 in Varde Municipality, DR reports.
The case was reported to Syd- og Sønderjyllands Police on Tuesday evening, according to a police statement. Authorities confirmed they are in dialogue with both Varde Municipality and the student’s family but provided no further details.
Toke Knudsmark, principal of Sct. Jacobi School in Varde, acknowledged the ongoing investigation to DR but declined to comment further. Kim Bondesen Glud Nielsen, the municipality’s school director, also offered no specifics but stated that measures were being taken to ensure safety for all affected.
In a letter to parents, Nielsen wrote that the school was “fully focused on the safety and well-being of all children and young people” and had implemented necessary steps within the scope of the situation.
Police have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
