Safety warning issued for Kinderkraft Mink Pro 2 child car seat
A leading Swedish consumer watchdog has warned that a popular child car seat may detach during a collision, posing a severe risk to infants. The alert follows testing by Råd & Rön, as reported by public broadcaster SVT.
The Kinderkraft Mink Pro 2 model may become loose when secured using its Isofix base, potentially causing the seat—and the child—to be thrown forward in a crash. Testing revealed the defect, though not all variants of the model have been evaluated.
Ronny Karlsson, head of testing at Råd & Rön, told TV4 News the findings were serious enough to warrant an immediate warning. “We found a seat so dangerously flawed that we couldn’t wait to publish the full test results,” he said.
The risk applies only when the seat is attached via Isofix. If secured with a standard seatbelt, the manufacturer confirms it remains crash-safe.
Kinderkraft has not recalled the product but stated it would investigate the issue. The company is offering refunds to customers who contact them directly.
