Police in Norway have removed ten people from a single après-ski venue in Geilo as rowdy Easter celebrations get underway, reports Dagbladet. The incidents involved public urination, drug use, and aggressive behaviour, according to authorities.

Operational leader Tom Richard Skuggedal of the Sør-Øst police district confirmed that venues were prepared for the annual influx of tourists. “They’ve done a good job with security staff and crowd control,” he told the newspaper. However, he noted that several of those removed had attempted to return after being ejected.

One individual was reported for resisting police during the intervention. In nearby Hemsedal, officers also dealt with two disruptive incidents at the Skistua après-ski bar, including a guest who refused to provide identification. A separate case in Trysil involved a man urinating from a balcony onto a taxi queue below, leading to charges.

While the Innlandet region has remained relatively calm, Skuggedal acknowledged that tensions often rise during the busy Easter period. “It’s a mix of alcohol, large crowds, and sometimes poor judgement,” he said.

The incidents coincide with the start of Norway’s traditional påskefyll—a week of skiing and après-ski parties drawing domestic and international visitors to mountain resorts. Police have increased patrols in key areas to manage the seasonal surge in nightlife-related disturbances.
