A violent incident occurred Tuesday morning in a classroom at Huhtinen School in Porvoo, but no serious injuries were reported, according to Finnish public broadcaster Yle.

Headteacher Anna Talvitie confirmed the situation was contained and that no students or staff outside the affected classroom were at risk. “This was a very limited incident. Everyone here is fine,” she stated.

Police were called to the scene, and the situation was resolved quickly. Students and staff involved received immediate crisis support, while the school offered counselling to all pupils. “I am currently checking in with every class. The school day continues as normal,” Talvitie said.

Authorities are investigating the incident, though no further details have been released. The school has informed parents and staff, and the city of Porvoo has published a notice on its website.

Huhtinen School is a Finnish-language primary school with over 200 students, located approximately 2.5 kilometres from Porvoo’s city centre.
