Deputy leaders of the Centre Party and the Social Democratic Alliance will discuss Iceland’s political situation on Friday’s episode of Spursmál, mbl.is reports. Snorri Másson and Guðmundur Ari Sigurjónsson will also discuss Protocol 35 and other issues.

Jón Gnarr, a former MP for Viðreisn, will explain why he has left the party’s parliamentary group.

Former minister Björt Ólafsdóttir and Hermann Nökkvi Gunnarsson, an assistant to the mayor of Reykjanesbær, will review the week’s news, including developments in politics and the economy.

The programme will also examine the position of privately owned media, in light of planned legislative changes concerning RÚV, Iceland’s public broadcaster. Ragnar Sigurður Kristjánsson, an economist at the Chamber of Commerce, and Páll Ásgrímsson, Sýn’s chief legal officer, will discuss the media market. Páll submitted comments to Iceland’s parliament on behalf of the company, sharply criticising market conditions, RÚV’s conduct and the government’s inaction.

The episode is due to air on mbl.is at 14:00 on Friday.
