The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency (Väylävirasto) will lay off 32 employees following collective bargaining negotiations, the agency announced in a statement on Wednesday.

Negotiations began in January due to operational and financial reasons. The agency, which employs around 490 people, had initially estimated up to 40 potential layoffs when the talks started.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency is responsible for the development and maintenance of the country’s road and railway networks.
