Finnish defence and foreign affairs committees hold emergency meeting over drone incidents
Finland’s parliamentary defence and foreign affairs committees are convening an extraordinary joint session on Wednesday afternoon to address recent drone sightings in the country, reports national broadcaster Yle.
Representatives from the Finnish Air Force, Border Guard, and National Police Board will brief the committees on the incidents. The meeting follows reports of two drones crashing in Kouvola and Luumäki on Monday.
The drones’ origin and purpose remain unconfirmed, though authorities have previously noted increased drone activity near Finland’s eastern border.
