Finnish forest industry company MM Kotkamills will lay off 24 employees following the completion of restructuring negotiations, public broadcaster Yle reports.
The consultations, which began with 31 jobs at risk, have now concluded. CEO Marko Pekkola previously told Yle that the talks were driven by “production-related and financial reasons,” leading to planned reorganisational measures.
Nearly half of Kotkamills’ workforce—around 250 of its 500 employees—were affected by the negotiations, which covered all staff groups.
The company, based in Kotka, had announced in early March that up to 31 jobs could be cut.
