Finland’s supreme court to deliver verdict in Päivi Räsänen free speech case
Finland’s supreme court will issue its ruling on Tuesday in the long-running case against Christian Democrat MP Päivi Räsänen over her writings about homosexuality, public broadcaster Yle reports.
Prosecutors had sought fines against Räsänen for alleged incitement against a minority group, charges she denies. Both the district court and court of appeal previously dismissed the case.
Räsänen has said she will comment on the decision at a press conference in parliament immediately after the verdict is announced.
