The Faroese parliament, the Løgting, will not hold its planned main debate on economic sustainability this spring, despite earlier intentions, Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The issue was originally scheduled for discussion after the government’s 2024 report on fiscal policy sustainability, which was expected to be presented in early 2026. However, with elections now called, the debate has been dropped entirely.

The government’s report, prepared by the Economic Council, was intended to serve as the basis for the parliamentary debate. No new date has been set for either the report’s release or the discussion.
