Teenager dies after being hit by car in southern Norway
A teenage boy has died after being struck by a car in Lyngdal, southern Norway, on Friday evening, police confirmed.
The accident was reported by Agder police district at 7:50 PM, with emergency services arriving at the scene three minutes later. The victim was found lifeless, and despite prolonged resuscitation attempts, he could not be saved, operations manager Ole Robert Strandhagen stated in a police log.
A medical helicopter was dispatched to the site, but the boy was declared dead by 11:08 PM. The road remains closed while forensic investigators and the Norwegian Public Roads Administration’s accident response team examine the scene.
The driver, a man in his 40s, has been questioned and had his license confiscated. Local crisis support teams have been notified to assist those affected.
