Smyril Line reports record profit for last year

The Faroese shipping company Smyril Line achieved a profit of 147 million Danish kroner after tax in 2025, one of its best financial results in recent years, according to a statement released Friday.

Management described the outcome as “satisfying” and noted that the company has weathered challenges such as rising costs, currency fluctuations, and new wage agreements. The results reflect Smyril Line’s strengthened position as a leading transport operator in the North Atlantic, serving both passenger and freight markets.

“The company is looking ahead with cautious optimism and continues to invest significantly, including in new vessels and infrastructure projects to ensure future growth and sustainable operations,” the statement read.
