Faroe Islands sees sharp rise in imports from EU countries

The Faroe Islands imported goods worth 11 billion krona from EU countries between February 2025 and January 2026, marking a 7.4% increase over the previous year, according to the Faroese statistics agency Hagstova.

Monthly imports from the EU now average around 450 million krona, with the total annual figure returning to levels last seen in 2022. The latest data shows a 750 million krona rise compared to the same period from February 2024 to January 2025.

The statistics agency notes that imports from the EU have grown significantly since 2024, reversing earlier declines.
