The Faroese Centre Party has outlined its key priorities for the upcoming parliamentary election, including higher child allowances, a shorter workweek, and the establishment of a national bank, Kringvarp Føroya reports. The party stopped short, however, of making cuts to parental leave benefits a non-negotiable demand.

At a press conference on Monday, party representatives presented their platform for the 2026 Løgting (Faroese Parliament) election. Proposals included increased child benefit payments, the creation of a public national bank, and reducing the standard workweek. While the party discussed adjustments to parental leave payments, these were not framed as an absolute requirement in potential coalition negotiations.

Photos from the event show party leader Jenis av Rana alongside candidates Steffan Klein Poulsen and others addressing media at the announcement.
