Finnish telecom operator DNA is experiencing technical problems with its mobile certificate service, causing delays and failed authentication attempts, Yle reports.

The company confirmed that the issue affects the transmission of mobile certificate identification requests, leading to intermittent delays and error messages. While the disruption is not widespread, DNA is investigating the cause and has apologised to affected customers. Other Finnish telecom operators have not reported similar problems.

Mobile certificates, stored on a phone’s SIM card, have become a popular alternative to bank credentials for secure authentication in public and commercial services. The digital ID is issued by the user’s mobile operator and is widely accepted for online services in Finland.
