International fisheries and aquaculture conference opens in the Faroe Islands

An international fisheries and aquaculture conference bringing together about 250 researchers and representatives of business, authorities and organisations opened on Monday at the Nordic House venue, KVF reports.

The IIFET 2026 conference will continue until the weekend. IIFET is short for the International Institute of Fisheries Economics and Trade.

The University of the Faroe Islands is hosting the conference. Hans Ellefsen, an economist, lecturer and deputy dean at the university, chairs the organising committee.
