Faroe Islands increases mackerel and blue whiting quotas

The Faroe Islands has raised its mackerel quota to 35,881 tonnes and its blue whiting quota to 302,483 tonnes, national broadcaster Kringvarp Føroya reports.

The adjusted quotas include unused allowances from 2025, adding 2,523 tonnes to the mackerel quota and 14,700 tonnes to the blue whiting quota. The previous mackerel quota stood at 25,000 tonnes, while the blue whiting quota was 200,000 tonnes.

The increases apply to deep-sea fishing vessels operating in Faroese waters.
