Gunfire reported in Nekala district of Tampere as police investigate firearms offense

On Saturday evening, multiple reports of gunfire surfaced in the Nekala district of Tampere. Authorities are currently investigating the incident as a firearms offense, as well as endangerment and resisting a public officer, according to local police.

Around 7:30 PM, law enforcement was dispatched to the vicinity of a licensed restaurant after receiving reports of gunshots. Several police units responded to the scene.

Initial investigations reveal that the situation began with a verbal altercation between two men. This argument escalated outside the establishment and ultimately led to the use of a firearm. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police have not provided information on whether the individuals involved were previously acquainted or if more than one weapon was used. A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the events.
