Flight attendants at Atlantic Airways sign new two-year agreement in the Faroe Islands
The flight attendants at Atlantic Airways have recently signed a new two-year agreement, as reported by the Faroese Employers’ Association on their website today.
Starting October 1 of this year, salaries will increase by 4.32%, with a further increase of 3.87% expected on October 1 of the following year. The overall adjustment of 8.19% aligns with other agreements made by the Faroese Employers’ Association during the ongoing negotiations with various labor unions.
Sára Eysturoy, chairwoman of the flight attendants’ union, Súla, emphasized the significance of establishing conditions that focus on time off, stating, “Every day is a working day for a flight attendant.” This highlights the industry’s demanding nature and the importance of balancing work and personal time.
Additionally, the Faroese Craftsmen’s Association has also reached an agreement with the Faroese Flight Technicians’ Association concerning a new contract for flight technicians. This agreement also reflects the 8.19% framework established for the flight attendants.
This recent development underscores ongoing efforts to enhance working conditions within the aviation sector, facilitating a more sustainable and balanced work environment for employees.
