Second-hand perfume market surges 54% this year driven by rising prices in Sweden
The market for second-hand perfumes has seen a remarkable increase of 54% this year, according to statistics from a popular online sales platform. The rise in the resale market is attributed to the high prices of new perfumes, as explained by fragrance expert Ellen Dahlgren. Women’s perfumes account for a substantial 75% of the sales, with brands like Chanel, Dior, Giorgio Armani, and Yves Saint Laurent being particularly sought after.
This year, the highest-priced women’s perfume sold on the platform reached 4,686 SEK, while the priciest men’s fragrance sold for 7,400 SEK. The growing popularity of purchasing pre-owned perfumes highlights a shift in consumer behavior, as more individuals seek to obtain luxury scents at a more affordable price point.
