Artistic community pays tribute to Erik Clausen at memorial service in Copenhagen
Today, the artistic community, friends, and family bid farewell to Erik Clausen, the multifaceted artist known for his work as a film director, actor, visual artist, musician, and entertainer. He passed away at the age of 82 on October 30. A memorial service was held at the Nordre Chapel in Copenhagen’s Vestre Cemetery.
“It’s sad. I thought we had more time,” remarked actress Bodil Jørgensen, who appeared in several of Clausen’s films, including his last project, “Never Again Tomorrow.” Many familiar faces gathered outside the church in Sydhavnen, where Clausen spent his childhood, including notable figure Niels Hausgaard, who reflected, “I will remember him as a good person.”
Actor Nicolas Bro expressed his gratitude for having worked on Clausen’s final two films, describing him as “a great original” and “a fantastic director.” The day brought together a host of memories and tributes from those close to Clausen, capturing the impact he had on the lives he touched.
