Finnish man fined for border violation in Suomussalmi

A Finnish man has been sentenced to fines for a state border violation by the Kainuu District Court. The incident occurred last April in Suomussalmi, where the man crossed the border between Finland and Russia four times while skiing. He lacked the necessary documentation to justify the crossings and did not enter or exit from an authorized border crossing point. The man admitted to being aware of the location of the border area and confessed to committing the offense. The Kainuu District Court found him guilty of the border violation and imposed a penalty of 20 day fines.
