Police intercept vehicle in Garðabær carrying four individuals suspected of illegal residency

The police in the Greater Reykjavík area intercepted a vehicle in Garðabær today, revealing that it was carrying four individuals, exceeding the number of passengers allowed by the vehicle’s registration certificate. Two of the passengers had found space among tools and other items in the trunk of the car.

The driver and passengers were all arrested on suspicion of illegal residency in the country and violations of immigration employment laws. The driver is also under suspicion of operating the vehicle while under the influence of narcotics and without a valid driver’s license.
