Strong winds to bring gusts above 25 metres per second

Gusts of around 25 metres per second or higher are expected from this afternoon on northern Snæfellsnes, mountain roads in the Westfjords and the Tröllaskagi peninsula, mbl.is reports.

Winds will strengthen from the south today and are expected to remain strong until late tomorrow or tomorrow evening, according to a warning for road users from a meteorologist at the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration.
