Cybersecurity center in Finland warns of phishing SMS scams from Terveystalo, Fortum, and Traficom
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency’s Cybersecurity Center has reported receiving multiple notifications regarding phishing SMS messages posing as communications from Terveystalo, Fortum, and Traficom. The Cybersecurity Center urges vigilance if one receives a text message demanding urgent action. “A sense of urgency is always a red flag for a potential scam,” warns cybersecurity expert Niclas Koskinen in a release.
Last week, both Terveystalo and the police issued warnings to the public about these text message scams. Energy company Fortum has advised customers to contact customer service if they have any uncertainties regarding the messages they receive.
