Individual airlifted to Ullevål Hospital following serious car accident in Gran, Norway
An individual has been airlifted to Ullevål Hospital following a serious car accident that occurred around 11 AM on Sunday at Lygnasæter in Gran. Another person involved in the incident was treated at the scene.
The accident took place when a vehicle veered off the road, resulting in substantial material damage, according to Christian Svarstad, the operations manager of the Innlandet Police District. While he could not provide specific details regarding personal injuries, Svarstad confirmed that the situation is deemed serious.
Emergency services are currently at the site, and the road near the accident is closed to all traffic. This closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period, as reported by the Eastern Norway Traffic Centre.
Both the accident investigation team from the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and local police will be working at the scene throughout the afternoon to determine the cause of the crash. Riksveg 4, being a heavily trafficked road, is experiencing long traffic queues as a result of the incident.
