Teenage boy arrested for alleged attempted murder in Paavola, Hyvinkää

A teenage boy is suspected of stabbing a 22-year-old man in Paavola, Hyvinkää, on September 27, according to the Eastern Uusimaa Police. The alleged incident occurred in the middle of the street around 9:30 PM, resulting in the victim sustaining life-threatening injuries to his upper body.

Police initially apprehended two men in their twenties at the scene, but they were released as the investigation progressed. A few days later, authorities arrested a 17-year-old boy, who remains in custody and is suspected of attempted murder. The suspect has denied the allegations.

“We cannot provide further details about the motive at this point in the investigation,” stated Detective Chief Inspector Rauno Jämsä of the Eastern Uusimaa Police in a press release.

Currently, the victim is still hospitalized, and his condition is serious. The police have yet to speak with the victim regarding the incident. According to the police, the victim and the suspect were previously acquainted.
