Posta appoints Árni H. Ellefsen as new chairperson amid operational challenges in Føroyar
At the annual general meeting of the public limited company Posta on Wednesday, it was agreed that the chairperson, Joen Magnus Rasmussen, would leave the board, and Árni H. Ellefsen would join it.
The board has since appointed Árni Ellefsen as its new chairperson.
This has been announced by the Ministry of Justice on its website.
It is reported that P.f. Postverk Føroya has recently faced operational challenges, particularly due to a significant decline in mail delivery, necessitating adjustments within the company.
Bjarni K. Petersen, the Minister of Justice, who oversees the company, believes that Árni H. Ellefsen will provide valuable contributions to the board of Posta.
The Minister stated on the website:
“The board and management of Posta have done a commendable job adapting operations to the changing circumstances of diminishing mail deliveries. This effort will continue, and Árni H. Ellefsen joins the board with extensive experience from the business sector, including his role as CEO of Føroya Banka and as an auditor. He also possesses relevant experience as a board member and chairman in several companies. Therefore, I am very pleased that he has agreed to be part of this work.”
