Friise, legendary bandy player, passes away surrounded by loved ones in Norway

The club has announced that Friise passed away on Wednesday surrounded by his loved ones.

Friise gained legendary status as a bandy player at Strømsgodset, where he played a key role in the team securing six national championship titles during the 1960s. He captained the Norwegian team that surprisingly won a silver medal at the World Championship in 1965. His elite bandy career extended well into his 40s.

In football, he was best known as the reserve goalkeeper for Strømsgodset, contributing to the club’s two national titles and a league championship in 1970.

Strømsgodset has informed that they will honor Friise’s memory during their next home match against KFUM Oslo on November 10.
