The Tallink-Silja passenger ship Baltic Princess, en route from Turku to Stockholm, made a brief stop in the archipelago due to a technical issue. According to Marine Traffic, the vessel moved off the shipping lane at approximately 11:30 PM Finnish time and resumed its journey toward Sweden at 1:30 AM.
Marika Nöjd, the communications manager for Tallink-Silja, confirmed to the Swedish newspaper Expressen that the stoppage was indeed caused by a technical fault. However, she assured that the ship is now functioning properly and that the passengers are safe. The ship was carrying around 400 passengers, according to Nöjd.
The technical issue was resolved while at sea, and the ship’s services continued to operate normally during the repair.
