Niinistö proposes establishment of EU intelligence agency to enhance security and defense
According to Bloomberg, President Sauli Niinistö’s draft report proposes the establishment of a fully-fledged intelligence agency for the European Union. Niinistö is preparing this report at the request of the EU in order to strengthen Europe’s civil preparedness and defense. The proposed intelligence agency would address external threats facing the Union and enhance its response to espionage within member states.
