The speech titled “Israel is the Light in the Middle East” has been awarded the title of “Speech of the Year” in Denmark for 2024.
This speech, delivered during the Folketing’s final session in May, sparked significant discussion and received praise in the parliament and Danish media.
Mette Frederiksen, the Prime Minister, stated that it was the best speech she had heard in the Danish parliament that year. The speech also garnered attention beyond Denmark’s borders.
The organization Danske Taler compiles nominations for the “Speech of the Year” each year, with an evaluation committee selecting the winner.
Previous recipients of this honor include prominent figures such as Mette Frederiksen, Sofie Linde, and Crown Princess Mary, recognized for speeches that have notably influenced public discourse.
The award will be presented to the member of parliament at a ceremony in Copenhagen on November 12.
